Situated in the peaceful village of Escomb, just a 30-minute drive from the city of Durham, The Gables is a relaxing retreat for guests to unwind and switch off from the hussle and bustle of everyday life. This small but perfectly formed pod camping site is fully licensed for weddings and is ideal for a quiet break or intimate wedding ceremony.

Each pod and the Lumley Lodge have their own eco-friendly wood- fired hot tub and are equipped with en-suite bathrooms, a selection of toiletries, a kitchenette with a mini fridge, kettle and microwave, heaters, bedding, towels and seating areas.

The Gables is a fully licensed wedding venue with an alcohol premise license, perfect for creating memories that last forever. This whimsical setting has been described as a hidden gem set in a secret garden with the magnificent backdrop of a weeping willow tree, providing an unforgettable wedding venue in which to hold your ceremony.

You can tie the knot in this wonderful, light-filled space with your guests all around you. It’s perfect for smaller, more intimate ceremonies, accommodating up to 30 guests. The beautiful tipi is ideal for your wedding breakfast and evening reception, served outdoors in the charming grounds while lapping up the evening sun.
